New Car: 2012 Ssangyong Korando SX

SsangYong has revealed a new SX version of the Korando. The new model is the cheapest 4x4 variant in the range and it also boasts the lowest CO2 emissions, thanks to the addition of a new lower-powered version of the 2.0-litre diesel engine.

Unlike the other 4x4 Korandos, which use a 175bhp version of the 2.0-litre engine, the SX gets 149bhp. This helps to bring CO2 emissions down to 157g/km from 169g/km. The 0-62mph time remains unchanged, at 9.9 seconds, as does the two tonne towing capacity.

The SX has been designed as a model for people who want a four-wheel drive crossover for less than £20,000, so SsangYong has priced it at £18,785 – that’s compared to £21,445 for the EX model, which was previously the cheapest all-wheel-drive variant.

The SX comes as standard with rear parking sensors, a leather covered steering wheel, cruise control and Bluetooth. By comparison, the EX comes with heated leather seats front and rear and 17-inch alloy wheels. For more details click here.
