New Car: 2012 Audi A1 Amplified

Audi has released two new exclusive editions for the A1 and five-door A1 Sportback called “amplified red” and “amplified white”. The new editions are based on the existing Ambition line but combine optional features from Audi, quattro GmbH and Audi Genuine Accessories.

In the amplified red line, the A1 is painted in Misano Red pearl effect, while the amplified white is painted in Glacier White metallic. Both lines are available in three different equipment levels that build on each other.

The first level is known as amplified. Here, high-gloss black is applied to the roof line, S line roof spoiler, exterior mirror housings and single-frame grille. There are also 17-inch alloys in a five-arm design with black inserts and a matte, transparent film for the engine hood, roof and rear hatch. Inside cues include air vent sleeves in body colour, black sport seats with stitching in Parade Red or Rock Gray and floor mats with matching piping.

The second level is called amplified plus. You’ll get a black headliner, an LED interior light package, a colour coordinated ignition key, body colour for the center console and interior mirror housing and stainless steel pedals. The exterior gets add-ons from the aerodynamics competition kit. A special feature is the high-gloss black diffuser insert that integrates two matte black tailpipes.

The third level, amplified advanced, is reserved for A1 models with over 122 hp. In addition to all of the above, this version offers the interior features of the S line package. This includes S sport seats with black upholstery in Silk Nappa leather and contrasting stitching in Parade Red or Dark Silver. The seat back shells painted in high-gloss red or white are highlights.

A matching finish on the floor mats rounds out the colour concept, while dark tinted glass at the rear offers privacy. The add-on parts from the aerodynamics competition kit and the large roof wing are both painted in high-gloss black. Xenon plus headlights and matte black 18-inch wheels in five-arm “Rotor” design emphasise the sporty character.
