Milan-based Touring Superleggera will pay homage to the 1952 Alfa Romeo C52 Disco Volante with a new Alfa 8C-based car at the Geneva motor show.
The front-engined, two-seat Disco Volante 2012 by Touring will be built as a “very limited series model”.
Those wanting one must first buy an 8C and Touring — the coachbuilder behind the shooting brake version of the Bentley Continental GT — will then take six months to turn it into a Disco Volante 2012.
It retains the 8C’s 444bhp 4.7-litre V8 but gets hand-beaten aluminium body panels. Carbonfibre is also used on the bodywork.
