The facelifted SEAT Ibiza supermini has made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
The front end has been redesigned to fit in with SEAT’s new design language – seen on the firm’s most recent models like the Alhambra – so the grille has been stretched and the headlights are now more angular.
Meanwhile, SEAT has simplified the climate controls and improved a few of the cabin materials for a more classy feel. The dials are now clearer and there’s a larger glovebox too.
Underneath the bonnet, most of the engine line-up has been made more efficient. The 1.2 TDI Ecomotive model in particular has seen CO2 emissions fall from 92g/km to 89g/km and fuel economy increase from 80.7mpg to 83.1mpg.
For the first time in an Ibiza, SEAT is now offering the estate ST model with a powerful 1.4-litre twin-charged petrol engine. The Ibiza ST FR will accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 132mph.
The new Ibiza is due to go on sale in spring and is likely to command a slight premium over the current model. For more details click here.
