Mercedes has released details about the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake on the firm’s German website and it’s set to get a 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8, which produces 517bhp or 549bhp with the AMG performance pack.
With all that power hooked up to a seven-speed AMG MCT gearbox, the AMG Shooting Brake will be able to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 4.4 seconds – about the same as a Porsche 911 Carrera S.
Thanks to the efficient twin-turbo engine and a standard stop-start system, Mercedes claims the AMG will be capable of 28.1mpg and emits 235g/km of CO2.
The newcomer will go on sale early next year and should command a premium of a few thousands pounds over the £81,180 CLS 63 AMG coupe. For more details click here.
