This variant will essentially be a four-door version of the pint-sized C30 coupe, which is due for a redesign. It’s likely that both the “V30″ (or whatever it’s called) and the C30 will debut at around the same time sporting new sheet metal, interior, and powertrains.
Aside from its sleek headlights and taillights, it’s hard to decipher much from these shots, as the chunky cladding definitely adds some visual bulk that may not be present on the finished product. It appears taller than a V40 wagon with a profile similar to that of an Audi A3, which should be one of its main competitors. We expect it to borrow styling cues from the S60 sedan, which has been well received for its sleek and modern styling inside and out. The V30 should debut in 2012 or 2013 and a XC30 crossover variant should follow soon after.
