Mitsubishi will showcase two new models at this month’s Tokyo motor show, including a new entry-level city car called Mirage and an updated version of its plug-in hybrid PX-MiEV II concept.
The Concept PX-MiEV II is a development of the original PX-MiEV concept shown at the 2009 Tokyo motor show. This latest version features a pair of electric motors from the Mitsubishi i-MiEV with a conventional petrol engine, combining to give the car four-wheel drive capability.
The concept has a claimed combined fuel economy figure of 166mpg and can cover 31 miles on battery power alone; a total range of around 500 miles should be achievable.
Mitsubishi will also bring its Minicab-MiEV light commercial EV and Outlander Sport to the Tokyo motor show.
