We have spyshots of the next-gen
Lexus GS making its rounds on the ‘Ring, which means development of the automaker’s midsize sport
sedan is moving right along. The bad news (for us anyway) is that Lexus has done a great job covering up this tester, which means there’s not much we can confirm on the overall styling.
There are, however, a few bits that appear to be carried over from the sharp and sleek LF-Gh concept that
Lexus revealed at the New York International Auto Show this past April. Expectations are high for the new GS; The automaker has stated that the new sedan will preview the corporate design language we could expect to see on upcoming Lexus models.
Most noticeable from this first batch of spy photos are the all-LED headlights, which flank the wide, spindle-styled grill. Shots of the rear reveal a trunk lip spoiler and taillights that appear to share the sharp, angular styling from the LF-Gh concept. Side shots look especially frumpy, but again that’s due to the heavy cladding and camouflage. Lexus put a lot of effort into concealing the character line and the rear quarter window, which was one of the most unique
features on the concept. It’s still too early to say what will ultimately power the new GS, but count on us to find out before its official launch.
