Ford has announced a 'groundbreaking all-new vehicle' will debut in Geneva, alongside eight other models, although exact details are yet to be confirmed. Ford of Europe Chairman and CEO Stephen T. Odell will unveil the newcomer during a Ford news conference at 14:30 on March 1.
In August last year we reported that Ford was readying a Fusion replacement for the Swiss Expo, called the B-Max. Essentially a Fiesta-based MPV, it will take on the Honda Jazz and Nissan Note if and when it arrives.
Also on the Geneva stand will be the Vertrek Concept, the global replacement for the Kuga and Escape first shown in Detroit last month, making its European debut. There will also be a raft of Electrified Fords including the Focus Electric, C-MAX HEV, plug-in C-MAX Energi and Transit Connect Electric.
Making its world debut will be the Ranger Wildtrak pick-up truck, due to go on sale in the UK towards the end of the year, while two new variant of existing models will also take a bow.
First up is the cleanest Mondeo ECOnetic ever, emitting just 114g/km of CO2 thanks to a new and efficient 113bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine fitted with stop-start technology. The Ka gets a makeover too, in the form of the 'Metal Ka' special edition, due in the UK in April.
Last but not least the Fiesta RS World Rally Car in full team livery will be displayed, straight from its debut appearance at Rally Sweden, the first round of the 2011 World Rally Championship. For more details click here.
