Geneva Show 2012 Highlights: Pininfarina Cambiano Concept

The Pininfarina Cambiano sports saloon concept is the Italian styling house’s star at the Geneva motor show. The Italian styling house closed its coachbuilding business last year to concentrate solely on car design.

The Cambiano adopts a Hyundai Veloster-style door arrangement, with one door on the driver’s side and two doors on the passenger side. The rear door on the passenger side is rear hinged, and there is no B-pillar on this side to boost access to the four-seat cabin.

The range-extended electric car features a 79bhp electric motor mounted in each wheel. It can crack 0-62mph in 4.2sec and reach a top speed of 170mph. Its all-electric range is 125 miles, but this is increased when the front-mounted diesel generator kicks in.
